Transforming the interior space of a leading global law firm in Qatar's legal scene for the next dacade.
Introduction
Dentons, a global leader in the legal sector, sought to reposition itself in Qatar by relocating to Lusail, an emerging business district. Faced with increasing competition and a need for more efficient use of office space, Dentons partnered with Daya to create a workspace that aligned with their long-term ambitions.
At a glance
- Relocation to Lusail to maintain Dentons’ position in Qatar’s legal market.
- Integrated value engineering, resulting in 23% cost savings.
- Enhanced spatial organization to accommodate public and private zones.
Approach
Daya collaborated closely with the Dentons team to completely transform their office space. Our design prioritized functionality, service efficiency, and maintaining a corporate feel. Through in-depth user research and environmental assessments, we tailored the office layout to meet the needs of both Dentons staff and their clients. We focused on zoning segregation by creating four key zones: resident, resource, meeting, and social, each enhancing operational flow between public and private areas.
We also applied a value-costing approach, identifying reusable items from Dentons’ old office while leveraging existing features in the new location, resulting in a 20% cost reduction. Environmental considerations like maximizing waterfront views and optimizing lighting and acoustics were crucial in creating a comfortable, efficient work environment.
Result
Dentons' new office saw a 24% increase in capacity with nearly the same floor area as their previous space. Value engineering led to 23% savings on construction costs, while the new layout provided a controlled circulation between public and private areas, ensuring an optimized client experience. The transformation not only aligned with Dentons' goals but also equipped them to stay competitive in Qatar’s evolving legal market.
